Hedge Fund Exposure Levels: Still Very Long Equities
Though I commend you somewhat on your hard work, I find it disappointing that so many reputable blogs link to you when it appears that the information you publish can be unreliable or inaccurate. Seeing as I don't usually cross-check your posts, I sincerely hope that inaccuracies such as this one are a rare occurrence. Although I have commented previously on you confusing the portfolios of two different funds.
Regardless, with you all the best and appreciate the efforts you have put forth.
We sincerely apologize and are puzzled by how this has happened. We're checking into why it was not uploaded to us from the SEC right now. I can assure you though that our data is reliable in the sense that it correctly sorts the filing we are targeting. But, as you've seen, you obviously need to have the correct filing in the system to monitor the portfolio changes.
Again, we very much appreciate you pointing this out to us. We would highlight that the two errors you have seen have not been with the actual calculation of positions, but rather one human error (on our part for mislabeling a fund's name on a post) and then now a database error in which for some reason an amended filing slipped through our system.
We check every 13F analysis by hand and compare it to our database printout (a tedious process) and assure you that the percentages and portfolio changes are always correct in this regard. In this case, we were simply using the original 13F filing, not the amended one which was filed a few days later. Again, our apologies for this inconvenience and our thanks for pointing this out. Rest assured that we are going through all our old posts now to ensure we have all the correct filings streaming the data.
