Hedge Fund Exposure Levels: Still Very Long Equities
Have you done you analysis on Atticus's last quarter filling yet? I am interesting to see what have they done to their FCX holding. Thanks.
no i have not yet. but, i am even hesitant to do so at this stage simply because the stock market has been hit so hard. and, specifically, commodities and numerous other "momentum" stocks that atticus held. after all, one of their funds is down 25% for the year. so, the 13f will only show their holdings as of june 30th. and, with all the market madness, you can bet that their portfolio has since changed in the nearly 2.5 months that has elapsed since the filing. Barakett said they are sitting on a large pile of cash (which makes sense since they will have some investor redemptions to deal with). 13f filings are tedious to sort through, which is unfortunate, because they are also time sensitive.... the material in them is only valuable in the first few weeks after the release.
